These terms are short on purpose. By using CSVUndo, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site.
What CSVUndo is
CSVUndo is a free set of browser-based tools that repair common formatting damage in CSV files — things like scientific notation, stripped leading zeros, and mangled characters. All processing happens locally on your device; your files are never uploaded to us. See our privacy policy for details.
Provided "as is"
The tools are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We work hard to make the repairs correct, but we can't guarantee they'll be right for every file, encoding, or edge case.
You are responsible for verifying output
Always check a repaired file before you rely on it. Spot-check known values, compare row counts, and test a sample before loading the output into a production database, accounting system, e-commerce platform, or anything else that matters. You alone are responsible for how you use the results.
An honest note about data loss
Some Excel damage is irreversible, and no tool — ours included — can undo it. If Excel truncated a 20-digit number to 15 significant digits (turning 78901234567890123456 into 78901234567890100000), the lost digits are gone. If it silently converted a value like MARCH1 into a date and the file was saved, the original text no longer exists in the file. CSVUndo repairs formatting problems where the underlying data survives; it cannot restore data Excel destroyed. When in doubt, go back to the original export.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it abusively, or use it for anything unlawful. Only process files you have the right to work with.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CSVUndo and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost profits, or business interruption — arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, which for a free tool is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.
Changes and general terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Where a governing law has not been agreed between us, these terms take effect under the law of the place where the site is operated from, and nothing here removes any right you have to bring a claim in your own country of residence — if you are a consumer, that right is yours by law and we do not attempt to sign it away. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
